I work in the automobile injury claims department at an insurance company (exciting stuff, I know - way to put that English degree to good use!) and there's this one employee here that occasionally gets a bit... overzealous with his accident investigations. We reached a point yesterday that the situation escalated beyond the norm, as he left work for a few hours to PERSONALLY GO RETRIEVE A SURVEILLANCE TAPE FOR A PARKING LOT ACCIDENT. You read that correctly. I think the next time I need my roots touched up I will urgently need to go pick up a police report in rural Pennsylvania.
Anyway, my boyfriend responded to this by sending this little gem to our group of work friends:
Dear (redacted, supervisor's name),
I need permission to go to Slider's (local bar) this afternoon to investigate a claim that I'm handling. Claimant reports that he was at Slider's, had 3 beers but was not drunk. I will need to go and test this theory. Please advise.
At least we keep ourselves entertained.
